The day
Where, when, and what happens
Everything you'd otherwise have to email us about, before you pick dates.
Out from anywhere, back to one dock
We deliver to any of the four pickup points at no charge. At the end of the day you come back to our own dock at Compass Point and we drive you to your hotel — so you finish the day getting out of the boat, not looking for a taxi.
Ferry dock end of the East End. Straight shot across Pillsbury Sound to Cruz Bay, or north to Thatch and Grass Cay.
Great Bay. We come alongside the resort dock — walk down from the room, step aboard, gone.
St. Thomas Yacht Club. Step off the club dock straight onto the boat — the shortest walk of the four if you're a member or staying at Cowpet.
Benner Bay, on the south shore. Our dock, and where every charter comes back to. Fuel, wash-down and the car are all here. Also the best departure if you're headed west toward Water Island and Honeymoon Beach.
What a day means
Most operators here sell seven hours and call it a full day. Ours is eight, and the clock starts when you leave the dock.
Self-drive · full day
08:30 — 16:30Eight hours on the water, alongside at Compass Point by 16:30. Later starts at 09:00 or 10:00 still come back at 16:30 — you lose the hours, not the rate.
Protector · half day
08:30 — 12:3013:00 — 17:00
Morning or afternoon. The morning slot is the better snorkelling — lighter wind, cleaner water, Christmas Cove before the crowd.
Protector · BVI day
08:00 — 17:00Nine hours to cover customs at both ends. Passports on the dock at 07:45 — clearing in is not something we can hurry.
Dock & office
07:30 — 18:00Daily, November to June, phone and VHF 16, first light until the last boat is tied up. Outside those hours, leave a message and we answer at 07:30.
Where she spends the night
Boats come back to our dock at Compass Point every evening. There are two exceptions, and we confirm which one applies before the boat leaves — it goes on the booking.
Back to Compass Point at the end of each day, and we run you to your hotel. On a multi-day booking we redeliver to your dock the next morning at no charge — you're not paying for the boat to sit somewhere.
If you have a private dock she can stay there overnight. We need the address at booking, and the boat has to be on a dock you control — not a public bulkhead, a dinghy dock or a beach.
If you're staying aboard a yacht, she stays at anchor alongside you for the length of the charter. We need the yacht's name and where she lies. This is the arrangement most multi-day bookings use.
An unattended tender on a mooring in a squall is how boats get lost, and our insurance is written on where she sleeps. It takes one line at checkout and it's the reason we can leave a boat with you at all.
How it works
Choose the boat, the dock and the days below. We hold the boat while you check out and confirm by text. Multi-day bookings keep the boat overnight — one handover at the start, one at the end.
We meet you at the dock with the boat fuelled and the snorkel gear aboard in your sizes. Plotter, VHF, ladder, anchor, the day's weather, and a route plan for where you're actually going.
Return to our dock in Benner Bay — not wherever you started. We take the boat, settle fuel at cost, release the deposit, and run you back to your hotel anywhere on the east end. Thirty minutes late is free; past that we charge an hour, because the next guest is on the dock. If we stand the fleet down for weather you're refunded or moved — your choice, not ours.
